When purchasing a new HD-TV it’s important to make sure you have all the components necessary to fit your HD goals. You should know that a lot of HDTVs do not come with an HD-TV-Tuner, which is what is needed to actually receive HD channels. The good news is that there are hardware add ons that can allow you to access all the wonderful free HD channels.

Works well for antennas January 6, 2007
This is the second SIR-T451 that I have purchased.
The unit works very well.
I cannot justify the cost of cable and prefer to use an antenna for viewing over-the-air TV signals.
When we purchased an HDTV and hooked it up to the antenna earlier this year, 22 HD stations came in beautifully, along with 15 analog (Washington DC area). But I needed a way to record these programs.
Since my VHS recorder could not find the HD stations, I use the SIR-T451 to feed it.
