American Psycho was one of the most chilling movies I have ever seen and the idea of seeing it in HD heightens my anticipation. This was before Christian Bale became Batman, this was before him making it mainstream, this was his defining character in my opinion. So how is the quality - in a word: FANTASTIC! The video quality is awesome, as only Blu-ray can provide, and the sound is captivating. I've heard people complaining about the transfer of this film and I disagree. The "washed out" or "grainy" look people are complaining about has nothing to do with the transfer - it's just how the movie is supposed to look. The washed out affect is there to reflect the mind of the killer, and how he sees things.

I was very impressed with the HD DVD. The picture in picture feature on this title is the real star of this HD DVD. I loved this film and the bright colors and the Dolby Plus Plus soundtrack really springs life into hi-def title.

If you don't care about all the fluff, why not get straight to the meat and potatoes, Dish Network will be offering an HD only package for it's customers. It looks like starting next week there will be a $29.99 package available that has around 70 national HD channels.
Don't expect the Dish Network package to remain stagnent either, according to DN they will expand the base package of HD channels to 100 by year end.

Paramount announced today their latest movie releases to the HD DVD format for the first quarter of 2008. Looks like there will be a little something for everyone and that something will be in a beautiful inexpensive format to enjoy. 
Beowulf will be released on February 26, 2008 on HD DVD. Of course expect a lot of extras like "The Making Of", Web Enabled extras, and even a Beowulf pop-up trivia game.
Into The Wild on HD DVD will be released on March 4th with an equally impressive list of extras. Things We Lost In The Fire is another short which will accompany the HD DVD in addition to the already impressive behind the scenes cuts.
Bee Movie on HD DVD will be released on March 11th 2008 from the wildly popular animation studio Dream Works. The HD DVD will include downloadable content from the web, story board, trivia game, and even customizable menus.
The Jack Ryan Collection on HD DVD will also be available for purchase which will include the movies The Hunt For Red October, Clear and Present Danger, Patriot Games, and the Sum of All Fears.
The Kite Runner on HD DVD will also be available first quarter of 2008, which was based on the international best seller.

After many months of frustration with my very old Samsung BDP-1000 I finally gave in and bought the Panasonic DMP-BD30K and what a great choice it was. Having all my new movies load in what seemed like an enterity or at all with the Samsung it was great to have them load in what seems like mear seconds. Being able to finally use the extra media on the discs is great. I have played many movies on this and it has loaded all of them very fast even all the latest releases. A great buy if your looking for a great player this is it. And by the way I have noticed a great increase in sound quality and picture quality compared to my old Samsung. Great machine buy it.

I bought this product for 299.99, stunning colors and great all around picture quality, even the dvd upscaling makes my non Blu-ray dvd's look great. I haven't tried to play any audio cd' on them but if some of you are having problems go to the sharp website and maybe the software updates may help. The mounting time of the dvds seem slow but I guess thats par for HD or Blu-ray players. I would definitley recommend this produSharp Aquos BDHP20U 1080p Blu-Ray Disc Playerct.

Everyone who has an internet connection can tell you that speed talks and today competition has driven speeds through the roof. With increased internet speeds, different media distribution methods become a possibility. Already, Xbox 360 owners are capable of downloading HD movies from the Xbox Live market place. Much like Xbox, Comcast has announced that they will be offering HD movies for download, but full movies delivered in just 4 MINS!
Expect speeds of 100 megabits per second, which will allow for the super fast HD movie downloads. Initially in 2008 Comcast plans on having an inventory of 1,000 HD movies to choose from.
